Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Sugar Bowl
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will take on LSU in the Sugar Bowl on January 3, 2007 at the Superdome in New Orleans. Fans looking to get their hands on Sugar Bowl Tickets can find them at Stubhub.com for anywhere from $215 and up. Notre Dame Football Tickets are also available to next season. LSU ended up in the Sugar Bowl after Florida State finished Number 2 in the BCS rankings.
LSU is reportedly looking forward to this one, given that Notre Dame’s defense has had a tendency to be rather forgiving and hospitable this season. The Fighting Irish find themselves in 57th place in scoring defense having allowed an average of 22.4 points per game. The Irish are also 50th in pass defense, allowing 192.6 yards per game and then 50th in rush defense, allowing 127.8 yards per game. The Number 4 LSU Tigers are 10th in scoring offense, 23rd in passing offense, and 18th in total offense.
Notre Dame Fans, traveling to New Orleans to catch the Sugar Bowl, see the trip as an opportunity to help a community still getting on its feet after Hurricane Katrina. Many fans intend to get involved in volunteer activities while visiting New Orleans.
