Notre Dame Football Prospects

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have two things on their plate right now. The first is their upcoming visit to the Sugar Bowl. The Fighting Irish will take on the LSU Tigers in the Sugar Bowl on January 3 in New Orleans. Sugar Bowl Tickets are available through Stubhub.com and cost anywhere from $230 and up. Second, the Irish are already making headlines in recruitment, announcing that many key players will be playing football for the Irish starting next season.

So far, 14 have verbally committed to playing football for Notre Dame next year. Golden Tate of Tennessee, expecting to start his college career as wide-receiver, rushed for 1,413 yard last season and had 510 yards receiving. He scored 29 touchdowns and also plans to play baseball for Notre Dame. The other big name is Ian Williams, a defensive tackle out of Florida. Notre Dame football coaches were unable to comment as coaches are not allowed to comment until incoming players sign a letter-of-intent on February 9. Tate may need some practice honing his skills at route-running, but he has to speed to be successful at Notre Dame.
