Great Draft for Notre Dame

The University of Notre Dame was all over the NFL Draft this past weekend. Most people saw how Brady Quinn, the former Fighting Irish quarterback, fell to the 22nd pick in the first round. However disappointing Quinn’s pick was, this draft was actually one of the best all time for the Irish. Seven players were drafted by NFL teams and five more signed free agent contracts.

The University of Notre Dame now ranks No. 3 among NCAA football programs for the most first round NFL draft picks all-time. Notre Dame is tied with Miami at 61 picks. Only Ohio State (66) and USC (65) have produced more first round draft picks.

Besides the high-profile Quinn, the Irish saw Ryan Harris (OT) get drafted in the third round by the Denver Broncos and Derek Landri (DT) was drafted in the 5th by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
