Notre Dame Game Makes Bad List

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football team made a list they probably wish they weren’t on a few days ago. ESPN.com released a list of the biggest blunders in NCAA Football history, and the Irish showed up int he #8 spot, though the ones credited with the blunder were not related to Notre Dame. The #5 biggest blunder was the Cal-Stanford “The band is on the field!” game, which I though would surely be a lot higher, but still.

The Notre Dame game in question was the 1988 ND-Miami game when the officials mistakenly turned the ball over in Notre Dame’s favor when the play should have been called a first down for Miami. The Irish got the benefit of the call, and the refs were the blunderers.
