So we’re reviewing the pre-season write up that ESPN.com and Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook gave Notre Dame. Yesterday was the coaches and today is the quarterbacks. As you should well know, the QB situation in South Bend is one of the most intriguing predicaments in the nation. Zach Frazer is out, Evan Sharpley, Demetrious Jones and Jimmy Clausen are in, but nobody knows who is going to get the starting job when the season starts.
The one spin that ESPN.com puts on it is that they feel like coach Charlie Weis is secretly hoping that Jimmy Clausen wins the competition for the starting QB job. He might very well be hoping that Clausen, who was one of the most high-profile recruits a few years ago, can be a starter on the team for three years. If you can have a consistently good QB for a long time, then that QB has time to learn the system better, thus making him more of a contributor to your team’s success.
Make sure to keep up to date on the situation with the quarterback at ND, and keep searching StubHub.com for some Notre Dame Fighting Irish football tickets.
