Notre Dame a Top Recruiter

If you subscribe to the special feature on ESPN called “Insider” you will get to see the list of the top 150 high school football recruits for the class of 2008. This is an interesting list which grades and ranks incoming college freshman and high school seniors. You can see where some of the top athletes are going to attend college, if at all. Since this is a Notre Dame blog, I will have to inform you that the Irish are all over these top recruits, which should be very good news to you.

The top name that Notre Dame has on the list is that of Dayne Crist, the quarterback recruit from California, the third highest rated QB, as ranked by ESPN. Other names include the #36 overall, Omar Hunter, a DT form Georgia, #56 Jamoris Slaughter, a safety from Georgia, and #82 overall Matt Kalil, a tackle from California. There are a few others on the list, but to be fair, you should probably subscribe to the service to get all of the info.

Basically, things look good for Notre Dame from a recruiting standpoint. Clearly Coach Weis has been keeping competitive in the market for new talent. All of this bodes well for those of us who are going to go to StubHub.com to get Notre Dame Fighting Irish football tickets.
