You can tell that the United States Naval Academy is happy about something when they cancel class for a whole day in order to properly celebrate. The game that they are celebrating is a football victory over one of the worst teams in Division-I. Navy beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in dramatic fashion, a triple overtime win with Notre Dame on the two yard line.
The problem with this is that the game happened on Saturday, so there should be plenty of time to celebrate on some sort of weekend day immediately after Saturday. It would be great if there was a day of the week that came after Saturday that did not have any classes scheduled. Oh well. It’s probably just best to use the whole day Monday to celebrate, right? I mean, it wasn’t like Navy was the best rushing team in the nation, and Notre Dame had perhaps the worst offense in the nation, right? Honestly, I think that Navy is going a little overboard here. If my football team lost 43-straight times to the Irish, and then I had to wait until the third overtime to beat them in a year that is unequivocally the worst in Notre Dame history, then I might be a little more humble.
