Best Notre Dame Stories of 2007

Since this is the last day of the year, the Notre Dame Blog has decided to give you guys what you’ve been waiting all year for: a Year in Review! Just like all of the other news media sites out there, we’re going to go over some of the highlights from the year that was. Join us in a Notre Dame journey through 2007!

Unfortunately the 2007 season for football fans wasn’t the most spectacular ever. The 2007 Irish football team had some good highlights, though, including a few wins to end the season and a stunner versus UCLA. Also, you might remember that it wasn’t but almost exactly one year ago that the Irish were in the Sugar Bowl.
Also… both Notre Dame soccer teams went deep into the NCAA Tournaments. The men’s basketball team went to the NCAA Tournament. The Irish ice hockey team earned a No. 1 ranking at one point in the season, finishing with one of the best years in the history of the program. The Notre Dame men’s cross country team competed in the NCAA Championship meet. The University of Notre Dame ranked No. 22 in the nation in terms of overall athletic strength in 2007.

It was another year of stellar sports stories at Notre Dame, and with the way things are headed, 2008 should be even better. Happy New Years from us at the Notre Dame Blog.
