Marquette Defeats Seton Hall, Moves on to Play Notre Dame

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish now know what they must do: defeat Marquette tonight at Madison Square Garden. It’s one-game-at-a-time time right now, and the Irish get their first game tonight versus a team that’s given them some trouble in the past. Fifth seeded Marquette won it’s first round Big East Tournament game versus Seton Hall to advance to the second round, where they will meet with the fourth seeded Irish, who had a bye in the first round.

Earlier in the season the Irish lost to Marquette on the road 92-66. It was one of their worst losses all season, and one of only four Big East losses. They avenged the loss at home versus the Golden Eagles a few weeks later, beating Marquette at the Joyce Center, where they currently hold a 37-game winning streak, 86-83. Clearly the Marquette team knows how to play the Irish well, and ND won’t have the added comfort of playing at home. The game will be in New York, so both team’s fans will have to travel quite far to support their hoops team. Should be a good game. Hope you have tickets.
