Hansbrough Transfers to Notre Dame… No, Not THAT Hansbrough

Notre Dame’s men’s basketball team just got their hands on a Hansbrough. Well, we should clarify, before you start getting too worked up. The Fighting Irish just snagged BEN Hansbrough, the younger brother of Tyler “Psycho-T” Hansbrough, the consensus national player of the year.

While the older brother has been playing for the perpetual national title contender Tar Heels, the younger brother has been playing college ball for Mississippi State, one of the better teams in the SEC. In fact, Miss St. went to the second round of the NCAA Tournament this past year, just like the Irish. However, apparently playing for the Bulldogs, or going to school at Mississippi State was “not a good fit.” But what does this mean for the Irish? Let’s break it down:

  • “Psycho-B” will have two years of athletic eligibility left.
  • Because of NCAA rules, he will sit out from competition this upcoming year.
  • When Kyle McAlarney graduates, the 6-3 Ben will come in to fill in for the absence of a physical 2-guard on the perimeter.
  • Getting Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball tickets just got a whole lot more interesting.
