Notre Dame’s McAlarney and Barlow on Cover of Sports Illustrated

Have you seen the latest cover of Sports Illustrated? Irish fans will be glad to know that a few of South Bend’s best athletes have graced the cover of the famous sports magazine for the next issue. However, if you were thinking that Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate are the ones on the cover, you’re way off. Instead Fighting Irish basketball stars Kyle McAlarney and Ashley Barlow are the ones pictured in a pose on the cover, with Kyle driving past Ashley. They’re both looking at the camera smiling widely, inviting you to look within the cover.

The cover is for a special, regional edition of Sports Illustrated that includes their basketball preview. Notre Dame is ranked 6th in the nation in the men’s hoops poll, and they’re ranked 13th in the women’s poll. Head on out to your local magazine seller to pick up this great piece of Notre Dame memorabilia.
