Sun Bowl Officials Eyeing Fighting Irish?

Will the Notre Dame football team wind up in the Sun Bowl at the end of the season? Some are speculating that the Sun Bowl is high in the running for Notre Dame’s eventual postseason bowl game bid, along with other bowls like the Gator Bowl and the Liberty Bowl. Notre Dame reached the bowl game-eligible six win mark last Saturday versus Navy, so with each game they could be improving their chances at getting to a more prestigious bowl.

News that Sun Bowl officials were present at the Notre Dame-Navy game sparked quite a stir in college football circles this week. Apparently the officials passed out flyers about the Sun Bowl, which takes place in El Paso, Texas. Apparently the information packets told about the sights and attractions of El Paso, which include a boot factory and a local bowling tournament. Fun, fun. However, if we do get into the Sun Bowl, why wouldn’t you want to take in all that El Paso has to offer, huh? It’s better than spending the last week of the season watching other teams play in bowls, like what the Irish were doing a year ago.
