The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were upset by the Syracuse Orange this past Saturday, losing 23-24 in the final minute of the game. Notre Dame entered the game favored by more than two touchdowns, but failed to secure the win after entering the fourth quarter up 23-10. Syracuse scored two touchdowns in the final quarter, the last with about 43 seconds left on the clock, to stun the Irish and hand them their fifth loss of the season. Notre Dame is now 6-5.
Frustration and disbelief were on the faces of all the Notre Dame coaches and players as they left the field. CBSSports.com is reporting that Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis said this:
“I feel sick to my stomach. Everyone at Notre Dame takes these losses personally, just like they feel good when they win. But right now I feel absolutely miserable for the seniors.”
