Bleacher Report: Z-Hill Is Crucial

Word on the street is that Zach Hillesland is the key to Notre Dame getting to the Final Four. Well, at least that’s the word from the Bleacher Report, in an article written by Weis Gipper. Side note: Is this guy whose writing about Notre Dame really named Gipper? Back to the story at hand. This Gipper fellow accurately points out that the Irish are much better when Hillestand is inserting himself into the offense and getting on the boards. Sure, the Notre Dame men’s basketball team has its start like Big Luke, Kyle McAlarney and Troy Jackson. But there is a noticeable shift in total team productivity when Hill gets into the game and goes after the glass.

Guys like Hill sometimes get overlooked when you’re thinking about the strengths of the Notre Dame team, but this guy has the size and the instincts to be one of the best players in the Big East. Will he show up in the second half of the season, when the Irish go up against some pretty tall and quick teams in the Big East? There’s only one way to see if he does, first-hand.
