Singing the Big East Blues

Notre Dame has it rough nowadays, having to play in the Big East and all. Currently there are eight Big East Conference teams in the AP Top 25 (although there were nine just a little while ago, a record for any conference, all-time), so there are very few games where the Irish can afford to take it easy. Even teams they should beat, like St. John’s, are proving to be much harder than anticipated. According to the South Bend Tribune, forward Luke Harangody had this to say after Notre Dame’s latest overtime loss to Louisville on the road:

“There’s no moral victories and this feels like a moral victory. Every game is going to be a dogfight like this. You just have to forget about it. You can’t dwell on anything.”

Right now there are still four teams in the Big East who are still unbeaten in their conference: Syracuse, Marquette, Pittsburgh and Louisville. UConn and Providence have only one loss in the conference. Notre Dame will play Syracuse at home this weekend in what promises to be yet another thrilling, epic Big East brawl.
