A Blog from Zach Hillesland; Funny April Fools Article a Day Late

Frankly we’re surprised this news item didn’t come across our desks long ago, but regardless we’ve got to share it with you. Apparently Notre Dame senior basketball player Zach Hillesland has been posting blogs on the New York Times in their college sports section called The Quad. His last blog post came right before the UND-Penn State game. It’s an interesting read- it includes some light commentary on the Barack Obama speech at Notre Dame, as well as some speculation about how the Domer seniors would fare in a pickup game with the basketball-playing president.

In other (fake) news, there’s an article at the Onion.com which brings up the Notre Dame Athletic Department. The Onion is running a front page article about the general disgust and loathing that college football officials feel about the college basketball playoff. It’s meant to be humorous, mind you. In the spirit of April Fools Day, which was yesterday, make sure you take a look. It fake-quotes Jack Swarbrick, the Notre Dame Athletic Director, several times.
