Hope you Notre Dame football fans had a nice weekend. To bring you all back to the chatter-web, we have a nice article from the BleacherReport.com that needs some discussing. BleacherReeport.com is a site where aspiring sports journalists submit their own articles. Sometimes they’re pretty good, as in this case. It’s nice to get some Notre Dame news that’s not coming from a media conglomerate or Notre Dame itself. Anyways, the purpose of the article was to call for Notre Dame and Miami to play one another on a regular basis.
Why Miami? Back in 1989 there was a superb game when Miami (unfortunately) upset the No. 1-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish. They played again in 1990 with the opposite result, but have not met since. The matchup could have snowballed into a full-fledged rivalry, but it didn’t. Shame.
While the Notre Dame football schedule is a hard thing to get onto these days, as many matchups are already set years in advance and there’s a huge pile of paper and red tape that must go down before anything can be done, this is a very nice idea. The Notre Dame blog now fully supports the idea of Notre Dame and Miami playing at Yankee Stadium the year after next.
