Lou Holtz to Play Cameo In Upcoming Film

Former Notre Dame head football coach Lou Holz will appear in a small role in an upcoming film starring Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw. The movie, titled “The Blind Side” will feature a few cameos from famous football coaches, including Lou Holtz, who will be playing himself as the head coach of South Carolina. Lou used to coach at Carlina before coming to Notre Dame. NickSaban of Alabama and Tommy Tuberville of Auburn also appear in the film.

According to the article about the cameos by Mark Schlabach, Lou got to do some ad-lib acting. Said Holtz, “They gave you an idea of what to say. They ask, ‘What would you say to the athlete when you were in the home?’ They give you a time limit and you go.” he later added, “I told them I’m not a cameo actor. I’m a supporting actor at worst. I can’t believe they didn’t give me a starring role.”
