Notre Dame Falls to Michigan 38-34

Notre Dame couldn’t close out the game against one of their biggest historic rivals, the Michigan Wolverines.  Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier led a come-from-behind drive for a TD late in the game after the Notre Dame Fighting Irish were forced to punt the ball away with just over two minutes remaining. Clausen threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns, but that’s just the silver lining. Sorry, folks, it was a disappointing, heartbreaking loss.

If you need some inspirational quotes to lift your spirits, try this one. It’s from the AP article about the game, via Sports Illustrated. Rich Rodriguez, coach of the Michigan Wolverines, had some nice things to say about Notre Dame after the game. Of course, it’s much easier to be a gracious winner, isn’t it?

”You think they would’ve felt bad for us? Charlie is a good football coach and he’s got a good football team. They’re going to win a lot of games. The quarterback is an NFL guy. They’ve got two of the best wide receivers I’ve seen in years and their running back is a big-time player… And did you see the size of the linemen? They could eat peanuts off our guys’ helmets.”
