Ex-Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn began a training camp with the Cleveland Browns recently. The camp was open to all draft picks and free agents and was designed to give the Browns coaching staff a look at the starting points for their new players.
Though the Browns had dozens of great players on the field, all eyes were squarely on Brady Quinn, who worked out for roughly an hour and a half. He showed a few signs of rust, but for the most part the former Fighting Irish QB was glad to be in a football helmet and not in a suit and tie sweating out a draft day free fall.
Cleveland is never too far for those South Bend Golden Domers who want to see Brady Quinn get paid to do what he did at Notre Dame. While you’re at StubHub.com getting Notre Dame Fighting Irish football tickets, you might want to see if the Browns have any good seats available.
Fighting Irish basketball head coach Mike Brey recently announced that he will take part in a USO (United Service Organization) event called Operation Hardwood. Several other college basketball personalities, coaches, and players are taking part in the operation, with the intended purpose of bringing some of the fun and merriment of college basketball to troops stationed overseas. This particular assignment will take them to Kuwait.
According to the latest info on the matter, Dennis Felton of Georgia, Ed Conroy from The Citadel, Jim Crews (Army), Fran Fraschilla (ESPN analyst), Mike Lonergan (Vermont), Reggie Minton (National Association of Basketball Coaches) and Skip Prosser (Wake Forest), will all be a part of the mission.
You probably won’t be able to get tickets to these events at StubHub.com under the NCAA basketball tickets page, but you can see many of the same names if you get hoops tickets for games next season.
With the departure of QB Brady Quinn, the University of Notre Dame faces a much-discussed battle for who will take over the Fighting Irish’s offense. Though the quarterback spot has been getting all the attention lately, the wide receiver crew is just as up in the air right now.
The Irish lost two of their main pass catchers, Jeff Samardzija and Rhema McNight. Both of these wideouts caught 15 touchdowns in roughly 70 catches. Both contributed more than 1,000 yards. So the Irish actually have three big questions on offense: Who will throw? Who will catch? Who will run?
The annual spring Blue-Gold game turned out to be a preview for the upcomming battle at running back. Very little could be determined about the air game. As of right now David Grimes appears to be the front runner for the go-to wideout position. After that, it might be a rookie or one of several returners, among them George West and Robby Paris.
Nobody, quarterback or receiver, has proven much on the field in an actuall game yet. Notre Dame Fighting Irish tickets to the first few games next season might give you a look at players that wont show up in games at the end of the season. But whoever ends up getting the starting position, you know that StubHub.com will be the favorite ticket seller all season long.
Penn State announced the game times for their upcoming season of NCAA football. The Nittany Lions were in eager anticipation of when, exactly, their game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be held. The game is now set for 6:00 PM EST on September 8th.
This means that when the Irish head out to play Penn State at Beaver Stadium it will be under the lights and on prime-time television. ESPN will cover the game nationally.
The Fighting Irish have a slight 9-8-1 series edge in this battle between two of college football’s most storied programs. Notre Dame has not played at Penn State since 1991, although the Irish did beat the Nittany Lions last year at Notre Dame Stadium. Though the Irish have rivalries with a few other Big Ten schools that are much more important, this game should still be a good one.
After the Golden Domers play Penn State, they will face Michigan on the road. After that, you can get Notre Dame Fighting Irish tickets at StubHub.com for their home game against Michigan State on September 22nd.
Spring football camp has just ended, but that doesn’t mean that the coaches, and even the players, at the University of Notre Dame can call it quits for the year. Nope, this is actually one of the most pivotal months of the year. Yes, we are knee-deep in recruiting season!
High school seniors all over the country are preparing to make one of the most important decisions of their lives- which college they will attend next fall and for the next four or five years. College coaches, like Charlie Weis of Notre Dame, will be trying through varrying and, might I add, increasingly creepy means to help sway potential Irish players.
Take Marcus Forston, a DT from Miami Northwestern High School. ND coach Brenie Parmalee is his recruiter. He makes visits to the campus trying to “accidentally” bump into the boy, and send him vaguely inspiring text messages-though much controversy has been made of texting. Recently Parmalee sent Forston a message that read: “A component to greatness is the determination to get better; Take care, Coach Parmalee.”
To see if the recruiter tactics are working and if the best new recruits are in Irish blue and gold next year, you should check out StubHub.com for some Notre Dame Fighting Irish tickets.
The University of Notre Dame was all over the NFL Draft this past weekend. Most people saw how Brady Quinn, the former Fighting Irish quarterback, fell to the 22nd pick in the first round. However disappointing Quinn’s pick was, this draft was actually one of the best all time for the Irish. Seven players were drafted by NFL teams and five more signed free agent contracts.
The University of Notre Dame now ranks No. 3 among NCAA football programs for the most first round NFL draft picks all-time. Notre Dame is tied with Miami at 61 picks. Only Ohio State (66) and USC (65) have produced more first round draft picks.
Besides the high-profile Quinn, the Irish saw Ryan Harris (OT) get drafted in the third round by the Denver Broncos and Derek Landri (DT) was drafted in the 5th by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
If you’d like to see these old Irish favorites play, as well as a few others, you’re going to have to check out StubHub.com for NFL tickets. To see the next batch of NFL stars before they go pro, you’re going to have to get Notre Dame Fighting Irish tickets.
Former University of Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn fell to the No. 22 pick in last weekend’s draft. Quinn had been slated to be a top ten pick by most, and those people out there who buy Notre Dame Fighting Irish tickets probably thought he should have been a No. 1 pick overall.
The actual No. 1 pick was JaMarcus Russell, who was selected by the Oakland Raiders. Quinn was the second QB picked, winding up on the Cleveland Browns. The Browns also got a defensive tackle, Joe Thomas, and a corner back named Eric Wright. Many consider the Browns and the 49ers to have come away from this past weekend as the big winners of the NFL Draft.
Still, the draft day slide of Brady Quinn must have been disappointing for the former Notre Dame standout. The media scrutiny of players’ faces when they get passed up is pretty unbelievable. But Brady Quinn remained upbeat. Said Quinn, “I’m so excited to come to Cleveland. The Browns called me and told me they had traded for me.”
If you are a Notre Dame fan in Cleveland, this works out great for you. You can get Browns tickets at StubHub.com to see the former Notre Dame star.
University of Notre Dame’s Brady Quinn will likely be taken in the top 10 of this year’s NFL draft, and so too will Louisiana State University’s JaMarcus Russell. Since Russell and Quinn are the two top QBs coming out of the NCAA this year, the debate rages: Who is better, Brady Quinn or JaMarcus Russell?
For fans who regularly purchase Notre Dame Fighting Irish tickets, the choice is probably going to be Qinnn. We might get an insight into who the NFL front offices think is better this weekend when one of these two is selected first, although neither Russell nor Quinn have heard anything special from the Oakland Raiders, who own the first pick.
We probably won’t really know who the best quarterback to com out of the class of 2007 is until ten or so years down the line, after both of these players has had a chance to prove themselves in the NFL. If you would like to see how these players do in the big leagues, then get tickets for their NFL games at StubHub.com, your source for rookie QBs with promise.
Former Notre Dame Quarterback Brady Quinn is preparing his “surprise” face for the NFL Draft this weekend, and everybody who has been purchasing Notre Dame Fighting Irish football tickets for the past few years will want to see where he winds up in the National Football League.
Recently an article at ESPN’s Page Two reported that, statistically, the risk of drafting a quarterback is much greater that that of drafting, say, a linebacker or offensive lineman. Although you’ve got to believe that NFL managers use more sophisticated methods for picking players than by simply checking the major sports news websites a few days before the big day, the theory certainly looks valid.
So will the Raiders pick up Quinn, or will he fall somewhere in the teens? Dickie V seems to think that the Raiders would be acting a fool if they passed up on Brady, who could be the next… Brady. Dick Vitale, who may or may not get his Notre Dame season tickets at StubHub.com, says that he likes Quinn’s “quickness, athletic ability, size and strength.” Adding, “Those are things you cannot teach.”
Joseph Fauria, a star tight end at Crespi High School in Encino, California, has verbally commited to playing football at the University of Notre Dame. The 6-7 250-pound Fauria racked up 329 yards in 22 catches his senior year at Crespi. He is also the son of a former NFL player, Christian Fauria, who played under then-New England Patriots offensive coordinator and current Irish head coach Charlie Weis.
Most NCAA football experts consider Fauria to be one of the best recruits coming out of high school this year. He had been heavily recruited by other top football programs such as Nebraska, Colorado, Stanford and UCLA. His decision to join the Irish will have to officially be made in February. Until then, Notre Dame cannot comment on the matter to the media.
For those of us who have already purchased our Notre Dame Fighting Irish tickets for next year’s season, this addition looks very promising. Though the Irish will probably not use the pass as much as they did with Quinn, a good tight end like Fauria will get plenty of playing time, both as a blocker and a short route option. Get your tickets to see Fauria and the other newbies on the ND squad at your choice for great freshman prospects, StubHub.com.
